Tinashe took to Instagram to share photos from her distribution, a moment that says she’s been waiting for her since she was a teenager. Her placement in the magazine made her the first independent artist to be included in a particular issue. In the photos, Tinashe is seen wearing various gold, black, and stunning swimsuits.
“I feel like doing this because I’ve wanted to be in the swimming edition since I was a teenager,” Tinashe wrote in the caption. “Thanks, @sportsillustrated, so cool to be the first independent musician in a magazine and the first woman with pigtails too.” He later tweeted, revealing that he told his mother he would be in the magazine one day.

Tinashe is in good company with its 2021 edition. Megan Thee Stallion graced the cover, becoming the first female rapper and second female musician since Beyonce in 2007. In addition, Tinashe is preparing for Cribs’ return to MTV to expand her coveted place in swimwear.
The new season is scheduled to start on August 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET. Tinashe, Rick Ross, Big Sean, former NBA ballerina Nick Young, reality star Scott Disick, Jersey Shore Snooky, YouTube sensation Jojo Siva, business mogul Martha Stewart and others will be guests a new season.
